Pistorino & Alam Consulting Engineers, Inc. (P&A), formerly known as Herbert M. Schwartz and Associates, was established in Miami in 1967. P&A is multi-disciplined engineering firm.

The firm has extensive experience and offers a full range of Structural, Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Design and Construction Administration Services. We offer our services to a wide range of clients both in the public and private sectors.

All of the firm’s activities in the areas of design, analysis, drafting, cost estimating and specifications are fully automated. P & A utilizes the most current version of AUTO-CADD, and engineering computer software. Over the years, the firm has been the recipient of numerous awards from local, state and national organizations recognizing excellence in Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services.

The firm has been a consultant to the Dade County Building and Zoning Department and Board of Rules and Appeals since 1974. Our responsibility in this capacity is to make recommendations and provide investigative research pertaining to: amendments to the South Florida Building Code, research and comparison with other building codes and recommendations for SFBC, applications for Dade County Product Approval, technical assistance for the Code Enforcement Staff of the Board in the field.
